Congratulations – you did it!
Graduates, below is information we've announced to date about your big day. Much more information will be shared as we get closer to Commencement Day.
Questions? Please contact Ms. Aritha Emmanuel at aemmanuel@monroeu.edu or 758-456-3221.
Date and Location
Sunday, October 19
Royalton Hotel
Cap Estate, Gros Islet
The ceremony will start at 2:00 pm. However, graduates must be at the venue no later than 1:00 pm.
Registering to Participate at Graduation
There will be a graduation registration form that you will need to complete so that we know you are planning to participate. It's very important that you complete the form once it starts taking submissions as that is the only way to get tickets for your guests.
The form will open in August. An email with the link to access the form will be sent to graduates once it's available.
Ordering Your Cap and Gown
Graduates participating in Commencement are required to wear a gown with cap/tassel and hood purchased through our vendor, Oak Hall.
The online portal to order your regalia is now open:
https://oakhallcg.com/pages/monroestlucia
Associate Package: $27.25
Bachelor Package: $48.25
Master Package: $50.00
You must order your regalia no later than Tuesday, September 2, to ensure on-time delivery.
Grad Finale Event
Your pre-purchased graduation regalia -- the traditional cap and gown (and hood for Bachelor's and Master's graduates) -- will be available for pick-up at our Grad Finale event, which will take place October 15-17 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Your tickets will be available for pick-up at the same event.
Special Events: Latin Honors Recognition and KGS Hooding Ceremonies
KGS students will participate in a traditional hooding ceremony on Friday, October 17, at Sandals Halcyon Beach Hotel. Please remember to bring your regalia.
At the same time, we will be recognizing and celebrating undergraduate students graduating with Latin Honors – meaning they graduate with summa cum laude, magna cum laude, or cum laude honors.
More details about both events will be shared in the weeks before Commencement.
Guest Tickets
Each student will receive four guest tickets so that family and friends may share in this very special day. They will be available for pick-up at the Grad Finale event the week prior to Commencement (October 15-17 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm).
Graduates seeking an invitation letter to support their intended international guest’s visa application may contact the Registrar’s Office at registrar@monroeu.edu with the request.
Receiving Your Diploma
Diplomas are not distributed at the Commencement ceremony. Instead, they will be mailed home to you a 2-3 months after your final semester. It takes us a little time to confirm your credentials and have those beautiful documents printed.
Students finishing in the Spring 2025 semester can expect to hear from the Registrar’s Office in the fall about diploma availability.
Check Your Monroe Email For Commencement News
It is very important that you check your Monroe email on a regular basis for Commencement-related news and updates.
We do not send everything to your personal emails as messages are likely to be blocked by Google, Yahoo, etc. due to the sheer number of emails we send out. In the past, their algorithms have confused us for spammers.
Going forward, remember to check your Monroe email at least once a week. As we get closer to October, you will want to check it daily.
Graduation Portraits
While we do not offer formal sittings on campus for graduation photos, we will have a photographer at Royalton Hotel who will be happy to take your photo there.
