Monroe Esports: Competitive Edge, Community-Driven
At Monroe University, esports is more than competition—it’s a full student experience.
Our program supports both varsity-level play and casual community involvement, offering Mustangs a way to connect, compete, and grow through gaming.
Varsity Esports
Now in its third year, Monroe’s varsity teams have secured multiple NJCAAE playoff appearances in Valorant, Super Smash Bros., and League of Legends, with training and matches held at Encore Esports, our official off-campus partner facility equipped with high-spec PCs and consoles.
Players receive support in coaching, practice scheduling, and tournament preparation—all while representing Monroe on a growing national stage.
Gaming Club & Campus Events
For students who love gaming but aren’t looking to compete, the Monroe Gaming Club offers a casual, inclusive environment. From open play sessions to themed tournaments, this club is the center of our growing gaming culture.
Each month, we collaborate with Residence Life to host on-campus gaming events, blending community building with competitive fun—whether it’s Mario Kart in the dorms or a campus-wide LAN party.
Esports Internship Program
Monroe Esports also serves as a launchpad for career development, offering a hands-on internship program aligned with multiple academic pathways. Interns gain direct experience supporting both Encore Esports operations and the growth of Monroe’s esports program across strategy, events, and media.
