Varsity Esports

Monroe Esports is a varsity program with the record to back it up. Now in its third year, our Mustangs have earned multiple NJCAAE playoff appearances in Valorant, League of Legends, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Teams train at Encore Esports, our official partner facility, with real coaching, scheduled practice, and official Mustang jerseys.

Get Involved

GGaming is part of the Monroe experience, and it all runs through our Discord. Join to connect with other Mustangs and keep up with campus gaming events, including weekly open play in the New Rochelle campus cafeteria with the Monroe Gaming Club, featuring a rotating variety of games. It's also where students apply to try out for our varsity teams, so whether you want to play for fun or compete for a roster spot, this is your way in: discord.gg/DzpS6xA3re.

Esports Internship Program

Monroe Esports is also a launch pad for careers. Interns gain hands-on experience supporting the program and Encore Esports operations across three tracks:

Internship Tracks

• IT and Network Operations (IT or Cybersecurity) 
  — LAN setup, hardware and software troubleshooting, and tech workflow improvements.
• Event Logistics and Operations (Sports Management or Hospitality) 
  — planning and running tournaments and gaming nights.
• Media and Promotion (Communications, Marketing, or Design) 
  — content, livestream support, and growing the Monroe Esports brand.
