Fall 2021

The School of Hospitality Management and the Culinary Institute of New York is having a busy fall semester.  Our graduates are excelling, our culinary team is ready for a great competition season, we are gaining national and international recognition for the quality of our programs, and our clubs are having fun!

CINY alumna Yudi Torres named Chef de Cuisine

Yudi Torres ’17

Yudi Torres, a CINY grad class of 2017 was recently named Chef de Cuisine of Marcus Samuelson's BP Restaurant in Newark, NJ. She is the first female Chef de Cuisine in the history of Chef Samuelson's restaurant group. Yudi was Captain of the CINY culinary team winning gold medals at the 2016 state, regional and national championships. She was also a gold medalist for student chef of the year in 2017.

CEO World Magazine names CINY among the top 50 hospitality programs in the world

The School of Hospitality Management and the Culinary Institute of New York at Monroe University was recognized as one of the top 50 hospitality programs in the world! It's a great accomplishment and wonderful recognition for our administration, faculty, staff and of course, our students!

Team CINY 2021-2022

More than 30 students, the majority of which were freshmen (FYE), showed up to tryouts on Saturday, September 18 at 7:00 am. It was an exciting day and the team looks really good for this year. The first competition will be on Saturday, December 11, here on campus.

Baking Club Makes Halloween Cookies

The baking club, under the guidance of pastry chef instructor Chef Maria Wu, made an assortment of Halloween decorated sugar cookies which will be on sale in the Pastry Kiosk through Halloween. The students practiced with piping royal icing and decorated more than 4 dozen cookies...and they were delicious!
