The August Bridge Semester
August Bridge is an exclusive opportunity for incoming first-year students to get ahead prior to starting their fall semester at Monroe University. We have carefully designed this three-week in person program to introduce you to the academic environment, ensuring a smooth and successful start to your college career.

College Credits
At the end of the August Bridge semester, you’ll have earned six credits before your first year even begins.
At most colleges, you can expect to earn 30 credits by the end of your freshman year. But thanks to the August Bridge Semester, and Monroe’s three-semester academic calendar, you can earn 51 credits in your first year — which means it’s possible to graduate sooner.
Dates
3 weeks: August 12 - 30
Classes will take place in-person at both our Bronx and New Rochelle campuses.
Schedules will be determined closer to the start of the semester.
Tuition
Undergraduate Cost Per Semester $1,866 / Cost Per Credit $311
Students are eligible to apply for all forms of Federal aid (PELL, Loans) and will be eligible for Monroe aid based on their eligibility for the Fall.

Course Offerings
For three rewarding weeks in August, you and your fellow freshmen will be in class five days a week.
You’ll take:
- An introductory course in your chosen major, and
- A fun liberal arts class that will expose you to new experiences, cultures, and perspectives.
During the summer, you will also meet with academic advisors and receive support from the First Year Experience Office. Into the fall, you can expect continued support, including special events and referrals to programs.
